These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of shopsatinandsage.com (the "Site") and any purchase you make from Satin & Sage Artisan Soap ("we," "us," "our"). By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Who We Are

Satin & Sage Artisan Soap is a sole proprietorship operating from Redwood City, California, United States.

We aim to respond to all enquiries within two business days.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the permission of a parent or guardian, to place an order. We currently ship only within the United States.

3. Our Products

Everything we sell is handmade in small batches. Because of this:

Color, scent strength, size, and surface finish vary slightly from batch to batch and from the photographs shown on the Site. This variation is a characteristic of handmade goods, not a defect.
Product weights are approximate. Cured soap continues to lose moisture over time, so a bar may weigh slightly less than its stated net weight.
Photographs are taken in natural light. Screen and lighting differences mean actual color may vary from what you see.

Ingredient lists are published on each product page. If you have a known allergy or sensitivity, please review the ingredient list before purchasing.

4. Products Are Cosmetics, Not Medicine

Our soaps, bath products, and lotion bars are cosmetic products intended for external use only. They are not drugs and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or skin condition. Nothing on the Site is medical advice. If you have a skin condition, are pregnant or nursing, or are unsure whether a product is right for you, consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.

We recommend patch testing any new product before regular use. Discontinue use immediately if irritation occurs.

5. Pet Products

Products in our Lily & Earl line are formulated for dogs and are intended for external use on dogs only. They are not intended for cats, other animals, or humans, and are not a substitute for veterinary care. Consult your veterinarian if your pet has a skin condition or is under treatment.

6. Jewelry

Our jewelry is handmade from polymer clay with stainless steel and plated hardware. Plating wears with time and exposure. While the hardware we use is selected to reduce reactions, individual sensitivity to metals varies and we cannot guarantee that any item will be suitable for every wearer. Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, sleeping, or exercising, and keep it away from children under 3 due to small parts.

7. Orders, Pricing, and Payment

All prices are in US dollars and exclude applicable sales tax, which is calculated at checkout. Placing an order is an offer to purchase; we accept your offer when we send an order confirmation.

We may refuse or cancel any order, including after a confirmation has been sent, if an item is unavailable, if a price or description was posted in error, or if we suspect fraud. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we will refund you in full.

Pricing and product availability may change without notice.

8. Gift Messages and Customer-Submitted Text

If you add a gift note to your order, you are responsible for its content. We reproduce the message as written and do not edit for spelling or grammar. We reserve the right to decline to write any message that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights, and to cancel and refund that portion of the order if we do.

9. Shipping and Delivery

Shipping options, costs, and timeframes are set out in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Processing time is separate from transit time.

Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier takes possession of the parcel. We are not responsible for carrier delays. If your order arrives damaged, see our Refund Policy.

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. We are not responsible for orders shipped to an address entered incorrectly.

10. Returns and Refunds

Because our products are handmade personal care items, sales are final except as set out in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site, including product photographs, descriptions, the Satin & Sage name and logo, and the Lily & Earl and Fiora Clay names, is owned by us or used with permission and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, reproduce, or use it commercially without our written permission.

12. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Site to break any law, to interfere with its operation or security, to scrape or harvest data, or to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of it.

13. Third-Party Services

The Site runs on Shopify and uses third-party services for payment processing, shipping, and email. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party content or services linked from the Site.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and our products are provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Site, or any product will not exceed the amount you paid for the product giving rise to the claim.

We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your breach of these Terms or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Mateo County, California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date above shows when they last changed. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
